Down the Dungeon Way - the actual gaming thread

*As Bjarg and Esse peek around the corner of the open archway, they are greeted by a set of rather large white fangs. "Hello my pretty ones", says the she-wolf. Lying beside her, on the stone floor, is an arm; its hand still clutching a longsword. Beyond her, two smaller wolves are feasting at the dead body of a paladin. "As you can see pretty ones, this foolish man wandered alone into my playhouse, and my children were just too rambunctious for him. Oh the screams, they were thrilling indeed."*

*The room (60' x 60' square) itself has a tiled floor of various shades of blue; if looking from above one would see an insecting diamond pattern. The walls and ceiling are made of gray stone. The room is bare, except for the dead paladin and the wolves. Directly opposite the archway can be seen a second open archway; a hallway continuing beyond.*

"Hmmm, watch your step my pretties; one never knows what may drop in." *The she-wolf turns, walks to her children, lightly growls at them. They stop their feasting, and follow their mother as she walks through the other open archway.*

Bjarg glances at Esse and simply says "This room is ALL yours!"

[Jenara]

"Didn't you hear her? 'He went in alone...' Your stuck with me sexy, if you like it or not" She grins, taking a closer look inside, her eyes fixed on the longsword, and the paladins armor.

"Ok, the way I see it, the patterns on the floor mean something, guess we step on them in a pattern, or maybe we step on on colour only."

Esse scans the room for any sign of a pattern in the room, she'll also scan the ceiling with her infravison, looking for any changes in the roof.

[ooc]Searching for a trip wire or other obstacle, ie searching for a trap. I know she probably not going to see much from here[/ooc]

"Ok, we need two rocks or something, something to put on one each of these tiles" She looks to the other members..

[Kafen]

Bei looks at the body. "I hate to make the joke, and it's not really a joke. Still, what about the body? If the body counts, I wonder if its weight affects the tiles."

[Stik]

"Quite true. Quite true," Martin says. "That wasn't really a joke.
"And think twice about that sword, missy. It didn't help this poor sod, at least if our hostess is telling us the truth. Which I doubt.
"After all, we've been here for quite some time now, and we didn't see this man come in. And I think we would have noticed him, what with the shiny armor and all that.
"And how did he make it past all the traps and all the monsters we had to deal with without leaving any evidence of his passing.
"And wouldn't we have heard his screams, if scream he did?
"I think we are being deceived."

[Jenara]

"Who's to say he didn't come from the opposite direction?" She points to the arch the otherside of the room.

"But yes, this does seem rather strange, Bei by the blood, how long would you say he's been dead?"

She looks to Bjarg, "Can you stay out of here, for a few moments?"

[Kafen]

Bei says. "I can try." He inspects the blood and looks for the age of it. Specifically, he looks for the blood pooling and thickness of the aging blood. (( 17 int, 15 wis checks. ))

[Ismaels-Legacy]

"Aye, I'll keep watch out here."

[Jenara]

She turns to Bei, nodding "Thanks, that would be a start"

Smiling, she pokes Bjarg Gently, "Just trying to keep you safe sexy, can't have you getting hurt now can we?"

*Beillion can determine that the paladin has been dead for less than 8 hours.*

*There is a slightly discernible pattern to the tiles: medium blue tiles have points touching as they travel at an angle...

...and intersect at spots. (Supposed to be a diamond pattern)

There are light blue tiles, some are solid in color, while some have dark blue streaks marking them. The dark blue tiles have a star imprinted on each.*


(OOC - if anyone walks into the room, I will need to know what kind of tile they have stepped upon. To do this, roll a 1d4; 1=medium blue, 2=solid light blue, 3=streaked light blue, 4=dark blue.)

*Esse cannot detect any traps at this time*

(OOC - the ceiling is 30' high, in case anyone needs to know this)

Bei says. "No more than eight hours." He seems interested in the time line. "That would imply a second entrance, yes?"

[Jenara]

Esse shrugs, looks at the tiles and then at the rest of the party.
"He hasn't been here long, so there must be another way in, that means well... Stay here a moment." she nudges Bjarg.

[ooc] Sorry, wanted to reply to this on my laptop... Not sure why we can't choose a tile to tread on... but roll 3[/ooc]


(OOC by LWW - Huh? That's what rolling the die is for.)
(OCC Jen, I meant pick ourselves rather than a random roll, unless the tiles are constantly moving)

*Esse steps upon a light blue tile that is streaked; the footing underneath her is solid. She is two tiles within the room; the paladin's arm and longsword are 7 tiles away from her, to her right.*


(OOC to Jenara- for your next roll, you need to tell me if you are going towards the longsword, towards the other archway, or to your left)

[Jenara]

Ess steps forward lightly towards the Paladins sword, drawing a climbing dagger in her off hand (she has this to stab something if the ground gives way) (roll 2)

Turns to the others, motioning to Bjarg to enter but not step on any tiles.
"This tile is safe, I'm going for the sword."
