Drav holds perfectly still as the troll steps closer. After a few tense seconds, it passes him by and continues onward, never noticing the elf. It is now behind him.

Continue forward, hopefully making no more encounters.

Leaving the troll behind, Drav continues heading to the west. He comes to another river. This one has a mountain on the other side. If Drav wishes to continue, he'll need to turn southward a bit and go around the mountain or just try and climb up it.

Travel up the mountain

Drav looks up the mountain before him. He left his rope and hook back in his cave, has no mountain climbing skill or gear and does not see any easy paths up there. It's not a terribly large mountain, but he doesn't see any conceivable way for him to reach the top.

(OOC): Has climb wall skill, can't climb up an inclined plane.

I guess we will go around then.

(OOC: He can try making a climb check, but it will take several to reach the top and if he fails one, he may fall to his death. Your call.)

Lets just go around the mountain, look for deposits.

Drav goes around the mountain, moving closer to the troll's territory. He goes on guard, because next time he comes across one--or more--he might not be lucky enough to hear them coming first.

Sure enough, after awhile he starts to hear movement in the brush up ahead. Sounds like a large group moving through the trees, stepping on fallen branches and shoving aside shrubs as they walk.

Hide in the bushes, again.

(OOC): I feel like I'm going to run into something other than trolls :P

Drav hides in the bushes again. He can hear the group moving, but it becomes clear after a bit they aren't moving toward him. Rather, they are moving perpendicular to him. So if he stays where he is, they should pass by. Sounds like a large group; too many for him to face at once.

He isn't close enough to see them, but he can hear them. What is surprising is they are speaking to each other. They aren't speaking the guttural, broken tongue of the trolls either--but the Common tongue. It's been three decades since he's heard it from another person, and it's somewhat surreal. For a moment, he almost feels like he's dreaming. Maybe he is? If he wants to see them or hear specifically what they are saying, he'll need to sneak closer.

(OOC): Called it

Sneak closer

(OOC): *Jumps out of the bushes* "Hi guys! I've been waiting to meet you all, we're going to go out on an adventure!"

Drav silently sneaks forward through the brush, taking care to avoid making any noise. He recognizes this area...he's at the mouth of the troll's lair. This is a very dangerous place to be, but the sound of voices speaking Common are too powerful lure for him to turn away now. He had to know what was happening.

Once he is close enough, he peers through the brush to spot a most unusual sight--a large group of people, armed and armored, standing outside the mouth of the trolls' cave. They consist of four humans, a gnome, a dwarf, a half-orc, and an elf. They also have two dogs with them, one only a puppy.

Of the humans, two are men and two are women. One woman has long black hair, pale skin and blue eyes standing only a couple of inches taller than Drav. She's wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt, a sky blue vest, white breeches and knee-high leather black boots. She has a warhammer on her belt and a buckler on her arm, but otherwise wears no armor. She peers into the cave with a frown.

The other woman is taller and thinner than the first. She looks like a slight breeze might blow her away, she's so willowy. She has platinum hair that is wrapped in a shawl, blue eyes, and skin so pale it's nearly bluish in tint. She wears a grey vest and tunic, wide trousers and soft boots; but no armor and she doesn't seem to carry any visible weapons. She looks among the others, as if waiting for one of them to do or say something.

Of the men, they couldn't be more different from each other. One is tall and burly--by far, the tallest of the group. He has long, greasy black hair and a small beard and appears covered in scars. He is wearing worn studded leather armor and Drav notices a pair of swords and several daggers on his belt, and a quiver full of arrows over his shoulder. He peers into the cave, arms crossed, quietly.

The other man is taller than the women, but shorter than the first man. He has short red hair, violet eyes and fair skin. He's wearing light robes of gold and red, but no armor and he carries no visible weapons. He frowns impatiently and keeps looking up at the sun, as if worried about time being lost.

This leaves the demi-humans. They are a strange sight, as well. The half-orc is female with a slender, swimmer's build. She has pale grey skin, protruding lower canines, short black hair and grey eyes. She's wearing chain mail and carrying a very nice looking trident. She seems to have numerous wounds and is all bandaged up. She leans heavily on her trident, as if exhausted.

The gnome--the shorter by far of the group--stands at 3 feet. He has snow white hair, silver eyes and stone grey skin. He wears a Cordobés on his head, a duster, but no armor--and no shirt, either. He doesn't carry any visible weapons. He's also the one who was speaking last while scratching his chin. "...make 'em think twice about coming after us, or weaken them if they do," he finishes.

The elf is a little taller than Drav, and about the same age. He has blue eyes, pale skin and blond hair--save for a single red streak in it. He's wearing leather armor and carrying a bow and quiver of arrows. He appears to be daydreaming or something, barely paying attention to what the others are saying.

This leaves the dwarf. The rest of the group is very young; about the equivalent of Drav in age. But not the dwarf. He looks to be middle aged, making him by far the oldest. He's muscular, has a long black beard and is squeezed into an old suit of chain mail. He heavily favors his right leg. An axe and shield are slung over his back. He's also badly wounded and sweating profusely. He stares into the cave, his fists opening and closing slowly.

(OOC): I guess it's about time to get things rolling so...

Warn the about the lair, it's not just any old cave.

Nevermind, lets just sit in the bushes and see what happens.

(OOC): And, so it begins...
