Babushka drops her knives to the ground, catching the purple staff in mid-air. She then rushes south to the nearest cage, striking at the fungal barrier. The cage bends slightly, but quickly bounces back to its original position. It had no more affect than her ordinary staff would have.

Meanwhile, Shay acquires a bit of luck and manages to score a hit on his opponent, and then evade the counterattacks completely. Locky, however, while avoiding the first attack, is grabbed by the second on her right shoulder. The podman refuses to let go.

Babushka catches the staff (10) and attacks Cage D (7, hits). Nothing happens.
Shay attacks Podman 06 (1d20): 15, hit. (1d6): 6 damage.
Podman 06 attacks Shay (1d20): 10, miss. (1d20): 2, miss.
Podman 07 attacks Locky (1d20): 6, miss. (1d20): 16, grab.

(OOC: Locky again now suffers a -4 to hit while being grasped by the Podman.)

Initiative unnecessary, podmen automatically lose.

Locky grunts, "You are soo ugly, I have never actually seen a stranger looking creature in all my life. Swinging her Hoopak wildly she aims the spear and at the creature.

1d20-4=6, 1d6+2=5

Jerrard lowers his head for a second, the staff didn’t work, thus killing these creatures was sensible. Locky couldn't take much more of a pounding and he was already hurt.

Aming his bow at the creatures, hoping to miss locky he lets loose two arrows.

1d20=16, 1d8=5, 1d20=10, 1d8=3

Locky misses the podman by a hair because of it grappling her. Jerrard, however, manages to easily shoot over the kender's head, putting two more arrows into the podman. It likely won't survive another barrage like that.

Cold steel skidded across the rough stone while thoughts drifted into the midnight sky. Images of past deeds swirled about without mercy nor concern for ones sanity. These images were stirred up once more due to the information he received from the small village. The Buho prietess Hilda Montajay informed him about the missing villagers and disappearing livestock, again possible doings of miscreant evil seeping outward upon an unsuspecting community. She mentioned that there was a group that has already been dispatched there and that he should attempt to link up with them. She gave them their names and a brief description of each one. She then proceed to draw a map to a small cave entrance and informed him that this where they were heading. With her blessing he departed only to have to stop and make camp due to the quickly descending daylight, he would have to resume his endeavor in the morning.

With the last kick of dirt upon the campfire, Elvenoff continued his trek toward the cave entrance that was marked upon his map. Finding the trail that was used was not hard, however due to his lack of ranger skills he could not tell how many nor what type of creatures made the tracks. With care he continued to follow the path until it leads him to a fissure within the limestone rock. A fast stream slithered its way into this fissure and fell to the depths of the cavern.

Lighting his torch and pulling his sword he made his way into the depths of the cavern. Bodies gave testament that the party that Hilda was talking about has indeed found this cavern and began the righteous deeds to the dwelling evil. Moving deeper into the caverns he followed the bread crumbs of bodies in hopes of finding this group soon. Several slips of time passes before the sounds of battle echo about the cavern giving evidence that he has found the group he was looking for. Moving quickly in hopes of reaching them quickly just incase they needed assistance. He sped into the area from which the battle was raging, he quickly surveyed the area and took note of everyone and everything’s location before moving into the fray…

Babushka stands thinking of what to do next when she catches movement out of the corner of her eye, in the cave entrance from where they had come.

"Oi! someone's coming!" she shouts to her friends.

She then runs forward to the intruder. Even though he's a man nearly twice her size, she stands up in front of him, her staff ready to strike, and asks: "Who are you, and what have you come here for?"

Elvenoff arrives just in time to find the party fighting some strange, green men. The party has them bottle-necked to stop them from overrunning the group. A female gnome notices him and calls to the others, approaching him with her quarterstaff.

Shay attacks his opponent, but it dodges. The thief is able to dodge the counterattacks, however. In fact, the podman stumbles and falls on its face as a result of its clumsy attacks.

Locky is less fortunate. Babushka's shout distracts her just long enough for the podman to slam its fist into her mouth. She spats out a tooth and can taste blood. For a moment, things seem to get dimmer around her, but she is able to push back the darkness and hold on to consciousness a moment longer.

Elvenoff arrives.
Babushka approaches Elvenoff.
Shay attacks Podman 06 (1d20): 8, miss.
Podman 06 attacks Shay (1d20): 8, miss. (1d20): 1, fumble.
Podman 07 attacks Locky (1d20): 20, critical hit. (2d6): 7 damage.

(OOC: Locky continues to suffer a -4 to hit while being grasped by the Podman.)

If the new arrival makes an attempt to use his bow before answering her, Babushka will do all she can to prevent him from doing so, attacking him if she must. A strange sight she is, small, battered and beaten, her clothing torn in places, but there is no mistaking the determination in her fierce blue eyes.

Elvenoff adsorbed the information that his eyes delivered to him, the group had the enemy, the strange green men bottled up and was holding their own, but still out of instinct his hand fell to the pommel of his sword prepared just incase the line faltered and he was ready to step up. He ignored the approaching gnome at first for he knew whom she was due to the Priestess of the village, but this changed quickly once she bared her weapon and was ready to battle. He quickly removed his hand from the pommel and raised his hands up toward her, palms facing her.. “Wait my little friend, I was sent here from Hilda, the village priestess to assist you with the missing villagers.” his hands remain up as he relaxes his posture trying to convey that he was a friendly not an enemy. “My name is Elvenoff, Son of Endor, defender of the Endorian barony.” His deep sapphire gazed locked with those of the humbled gnome. “You look wounded, I can heal you.” he offered his aid to the small but courageous gnome.

"Hilda sent you? Then you are most welcome." Babushka immediately steps out of the way. "My wounds are not that serious, healing can wait until the podmen are beaten." She lets Elvenoff pass, but her guard remains high just in case this was a ruse.


(ooc: are you sure you mean humbled? I'd like to decide that for my character myself!)

Elvenoff nods to the gnome statement, She would know best of the injuries that she is dealing with. "Very well." he states with a soft whisper as he moves past her. He quickly turns and allows his legs to carry him forward toward the line of conflict. His gaze falls to each member with an evaluating gaze before locking his gaze upon the member whom has been grasped by the podmen. Looking for an opening that he may use to land an aimed swing with his sword for he rules out using his bow due to a good chance of hitting the entrapped member. Pulling his long sword he moves to the flank of the entrapped member and prepares to attack.

Groggy and shaken, the short Kender stands in her tattered shirt and trousers, the Holy Symbol of Paladine clearly visible round her neck. Her pointy ears, much like an Elf, the same ears sported by every Kender on Krynn. She does however sport a grim determination unique to her.

Locky tries to push the creature away with her hoopak, she tries to strike it with all of her might.

1d20-4=10, 1d6+1=4

"Oh..." Groggily looking at the newcomer she smiles weakly.

Jerrard fingers on his bow, barely acknowledges the newcomer, he raises his eyebrows and lets loose another volley of arrows.

Elvenoff approaches the others, who are too intent on the battle to really pay him much mind. He cannot get close enough to an enemy to attack, but he could potentially heal one of them.

Locky weakly jabs the spear point of her hoopak into her opponent, and starts to feel its grasp loosen on her. Jerrard fires over her head, putting two arrows into its neck and chest. This settles it, and the podman lets Locky go, falling to the ground on top of the corpses of its allies.

Locky attacks Podman 07 (10, hits) for 4 damage.
Jerrard attacks Podman 07 (18, hits) and (10, hits) for a total of 6 damage. Podman 07 falls.

(OOC: Locky is free. Elvenoff can't get close enough to attack, as Locky and Shay are in his way. He could heal someone this round, though.)

‘Nay, I can’t get close enough to strike a good blow without hitting an ally.’ He mutters to himself as he continued to gazed at every opening, searching for that opportunity to arise but nothing came except the opportunity to heal one of the battling allies. He looked them over quickly, noticing the paladine symbol swaying about the small kender brought a warming sensation of trust to him. Her weak smile and small acknowledgement of him showed her ability to observe her surroundings while in combat was exceptional. Quickly he returned his gaze to the companions to determine which one looked the worse. Upon seeing the one that needed help he sheathed his weapon and quickly muttered his praise to Saint Cuthbert before reaching out and touching the wounded ally.


(OOC…I use the ability lay on hands to heal the most wounded character according to his observation of whom needs it.)
