"Thanks Jerry.. I froze, I totally froze." She speaks, swallowing the tears as she scans the horizon with the crossbow. "There are mists down there, like the mists that brought me here. You can't see anything, but.. The Rope, there was something on the rope!" Her mind working overtime she lifts her head with a hint of hope. "Could it be one of the others? Edresia told me to hold it, could she be down there?"

Not having time to hug Mira, Jerry does her best, "It happens. Don't worry. And if you haven't told her you love her, you'll get a chance later; I'm sure. You might want to!"
She thinks, 'Hmmm. You, too, hun!'
"One thing at a time. Deal with the rope after this."

[Odd... i posted this monday yet it didnt show up... ]

Jerry and Adran, whose attention is mainly on the rope and the mists, notice a small pebble sized object as it sails up out of the fog! It tumbles and spins in a familiar way before falling back out of view... could it be a... coin?!? Coin or not, the piece had shot up about three or four paces out from the side of the ledge in the mists!

Mira can see that Elsa is breathing and stable, but definitely won't be waking up any time soon. Cross looks around nervously, as if wondering what new horrors might spring from the mist or the cavern behind them. Adran, Jerry and Merrick continue to pull/hold the rope; which definitely has something moving on the end of it...

Jerry tries to help Elsa but without apparent benefit but adds in her best bedside manner, "She's stable, but likely will remain out of it for a while."

Jerry turns back to Adran & Merrick's rope-work just in time to see something shoot upwards. She advances towards the edge, hands and knees, removes hat, then full length to peer over..

"I have, you should never wait to tell someone, the life we lead you have no idea what might happen tomorrow." Mira answers, stroking the halflings hair and giving thanks to Karl for saving her.

Turning to Jerry and Merrick, Adran said, My best guess is that that object was a coin and it was a response to my call. I'm not certain why they didn't answer back in a more conventional manner, but I believe that we ought to continue pulling on the rope - it appears that at least one person is hanging on it.....

"Coin?" Mira asks distractedly, could it be they survived?

"Give me a few moments and I'll tell you," utters Jerry as she inches forwards to look over the edge.

Jerry cautiously approaches and peers over the edge. The webbing still clings tightly to the side of the stone ledge, but both it and the rope are obscured by the heavy mists no more than a few feet down. The faintly luminescent grey fog continues to roll gently, giving no sign of what lies below...

"It's heavy fog a few feet below. Can't see anything," Jerry informs the others.
She shouts, "Hello?" into the fog.
If no answer within ten heartbeats she tries an evocation cantrip into the fog to show where the rope is..
'Let Mystra's light guide to what fog seeks to hide!'

Oops the evocation cantrip was supposed to make a blue flare... like a firework or ship's distress flare.

Jerry evokes a dim light that should glow around the rope for at least 30 feet. The magical light highlights the object, but in the thick mist it only allows results in a couple of paces beyond what was previously visible.

Is the rope lined up with where the object (coin) appeared?

[roughly, but the coin was several paces out away from the edge, unlike the rope

Jerry pitches a copper coin about halfway between the rope and where the previous coin appeared. "The rope is this way! Shout back if you can hear me through the mist!"
