Bull

Looks at Katten- Are you talking about spells or the written version Scrolls? I haven't seen any of those but the Lizard may have had some treasure somewhere in it's den. We just need to find it. This cave is killing my back being all hunched over. I am moving back to the entrance to stand up. I'll wait there for you all.

He then moves back towards the front entrance staying just inside out of the sun, watching the treeline.

Looking around, Katten does spy the petrified figure of an elven woman robes nearby. She crouches beside the stone figure of a fighter with a terrible wound across his abdomen. In one hand she holds an ivory scroll tube that blends in eith the stone. Unfortunately it appears the fingers of the 'statue' will need to be broken free to retrieve it... Both of the statues are badly damaged

As the purple glow fades from the statue fades Findalsip shrieks and yells "What sort of curse did cast on me??!" in alarm. Findalsip's eyes are wide scanning a new form of a deep gnome and patting all over at the cloak "he" is now wearing and feeling in the pouch at 'his' side.

"We honour your sacrifice." Katten steps forward, paying no heed to the goings on behind her. Kneeling before the statue she lowers her head. "Alámenë, Mára mesta." taking the scroll in her hand she reverently prises the fingers open, one by one. With each action she places the other before her.

"Scrolls, that is the word." She answers as she retrives the case, "These people, they need to pass. To be at rest." She explains slipping into her version of Common. Its then that she notices that the 'Young Lady' is no young lady at all!

"What magic curses you?" She asks slowly, forcing the words to ensure they are understood. "What Spell?" She demands of Linar the tips of her teeth showing threateningly.

"May I have a look at that scroll?" Nocturno offers his assistance.

Katten holds the Scroll close to her small frame then reluctantly she hands the Ivory topped case to him. "Look after."

"I assure you, I will handle it with care." Nocturno will try to open the case carefully and pull out the scroll.

Katten manages to break a couple of the stone fingers enough to free the scroll case and hands it to Nocturno. Fighter priest opens the case he finds a scroll of paper that is quite fine. Unfurling reveals it to be a Scroll of divine power with several prayers inscribed upon it...

The scroll contains the following:
Silence 15' rad,
Speak with Plants,
True Seeing,
2x Stone to Flesh

Upon returning from the darkness Linar says (in elven), "Perimeter is clear. No sign of another basilisk."
Linar then turns to face Findalsip and speaks a sentence or two in Drow.
He then says something else in another, more sibilent language.

Findalsip exudes a wry grin as he finds it quite funny that Katten got riled up and Linar got pulled in but is loathe to admit it. He replies to Linar’s remarks in what our world would be the equivalent of snooty upper class British accent but in drow, “But of course, my good man” and let’s out a few “harumphs”. He notices the forest gnome and proceeds towards him.

As the not-drow doesn't want to talk, Linar slips off into the darkness again.

"Scroll good? Will it help?" She asks wondering if her idea had been sound.

"The scroll is good, very good actually" He wonders if he should spell out his chances at failing to cast from the scroll based on the spell's complexity.

He sighs a deep sigh.

"It takes powerful magic to undo the beasts power. My attempt may fail."

Jordek approaches the corpse and fiercely concentrates for a few seconds, his face screwing up in effort, before brightly exclaiming "Cockatrice quills, troll's blood, gorgon or basilisk scales and gargoyle horns!" Smiling he pulls out a dagger, "Scales it is then!" He waves Nit and Witt away toward the statues "Go play while I do this."

Jordek begins working on the still-qarm body of the Basilisk as Linar slips off into the dark once more
