"That isn't including the ones I fought before we were captured," Tavi says. "We were just going to raid the cavern that you two were in, but we realized that was just suicide," she explains. "So we decided to set up ambushes on hunting parties to help thin them out. It worked for a little while until the goblins came here and attacked us. The rest you saw. You two didn't think I would abandon you, did you?"

"I'm just glad it's all over," Hallie says.
Barlemus sniffs. "Told ya we'd save 'em, right, Tavi? Nothin' to worry about."

Tavi smiles lightly to Barlemus. "Hey, you three," Tavi says, looking to Arvin, Hallie and Sparrow. "Would you mind giving me a little time alone with him for a second?" she asks.

They nod and head off toward the lake, save for Petal, who doesn't speak Common. Arvin quickly comes back for her, and gently taking her by the elbow, escorts her down with the other girls.

Tavi watches as the others disappear before she fixes her gaze on Barlemus. "I figure I should probably say this while I have the chance, " Tavi says. "I...I like you. I don't expect anything out of you, but I just figured you should at least know."

"Ut, well I've grown pretty fond of you, too," Barlemus says with a grin. He laughs. "People usually say stuff like that right before the dangerous suicide mission, not after, ya know."

"Yeah," Tavi says with a giggle. "I was a little preoccupied with other stuff though," she admits. "It wasn't until I was pretty sure I was dying that I thought about it at all. I was pretty sure one of my sisters was going to snag you for themselves."

"Snag me?" Barlemus asks. "Oh, well now that you mention it, Sparrow has been kind of eying me funny lately. Hallie, though...just kinda wrinkles her nose whenever she's around me. Guess it's been awhile since my last bath. Then again, I guess I could say the same 'bout her."
