The holes in the wall are both just big enough for a person to stick their head inside. Nothing appears 'missing' as far as Locky can tell. The holes are just where the mushroom levers are hidden.

Locky sticks a book into one of the holes. This may serve to inconvenience a hypothetical person for a few seconds were they to try and access the levers.

Realising the futility of what he was trying to do, Jerrard shrugs sheepishly, "I am angry, I should never have let it get away to be frank." He watches Locky block the hole with a book. "Yes, Locky is right, we should definitely go now." Following Lockys example he heads to the door, they may never make it back here anyway.

"Same order as before. Come let us go."

The party enters the hallway, heading south past the raised portcullises. The hallway turns into a more natural tunnel and starts to slant downward a bit, and then opens out into a large cavern with a river running straight through it. The river pours down from a grate above, then heads east through the large cavern where the only exit is, outside of the one that brought them there, that is.

The southern half of the great cavern is lush with tall growths of pale fungi, mainly mushrooms. The fungi do not seem to grow near the river banks, and in some places tunnels appear to have been cut into the jungle of mushrooms.

Just then, Shay's torch burns out. Cursing, he drops the stub on the ground and asks Jerrard for a new one.

While this is happening, though, the girls can still see just fine. And both of them notice movement to the south in the jungle of fungus. Whatever it is, it is big. It moves forward like a slug, heading toward the river that divides its half of the cavern with the half the party currently stands in.

The creature resembles an enormous mass of fungus, at least nine feet in length. It has a yawning maw in the front and two subsidiary mouths mounted on short stalks, as well as half a dozen small tentacles protruding from the mass.

The creature dives into the river, submerging itself completely. Babushka's fungus staff snaps into its solid position. Unfortunately, neither Shay nor Jerrard see any of this.

"Did you see that?" Locky nudges Bab as she sees the staff straighten, She puts out her hands, stopping Shay and Jerrard from advancing. "There is something in the water." She adds, taking up her Hoopak.

"What is it-" Jerrard starts to say, halted by Locky he almost tumbles. "Get back, slowly, Shay watch our backs, we need to have some room." He backs up slowly, words to his web spell on his lips.

(Long shot, was there anything on such a creature in the Shrooms notes?)

"Need another torch, quickly," Shay says to Jerrard, who not only is carrying the last three torches but also the flint and steel needed to light one.

Jerrard does recall one of the documents he picked up in the vat room mentioned an unstable experiment that went wrong. It was called the 'funghemoth." The Shroom's writings mentioned it had been left in a cavern far below and kept at bay with a discipline stick. Anyone who entered the chamber without this stick would be attacked.

Jerrard keeps himself facing the pool, his eyes not seeing a thing, he unshoulders his pack off his off arm and produces a torch, he lights it and passes it to Shay.

(While he is lighting it, he keeps it up in the air)

"This is another of the Shrooms experiments, he kept it in line with a 'discipline stick'." His thoughts go back to the others, "We must ensure it does NOT pass us!"

Shay accepts the torch in his left hand and draws his short sword in the right. Moments later, the massive creature lurches out of the river right before the party and roars from all three mouths!

Locky lets loose two bullets from her hoopak then darts to the left using the pointy end to keep the creature at bay if needed.

1d20=13, 1d20=19 Hit AC 0 and -6
1d6+1=6, 1d6+1=7 6 and 7 damage
