Much as he'd like to go and perforate one of the goblinoids up close and personal Linar realises that it's likely suicidal and silently sitches to his bow. Before readying a number of arrows he mimes* to Katten that they should both target* the more northern bugbear.

The small woman shakes her head, pointing to herself first and raises one finger, then him and raising two fingers, Readying the first arrow she had notched

Following Katten's cue Linar uses elven quickdraw shot to try and perforate the chainmail-clad bugbear. If it drops he moves on to the other bugbear (or an orc if the bugbear is obscured).

The Felis and Drow draw their bows from the darkness and begin to rapidly fire in unison at the chain-mailed bugbear. Two arrow shafts bloom from the creature's chest and a third strikes his leg; wounding him severely. Several of the orcs stand shocked, but two seem to have their wits about them enough to act. Grabbing weapons they rush down the passage the shots came from and quickly find themselves almost atop Linar! The first orc scores a heavy blow agains the Drow with his axe, though his companion badly fumbles his awl-pike in the confusion. Dark Elf and cat-archer! it shouts in Orcish back to the others.


Farther up the passage Nocturno, Bullock and Fin hear the shouts and sounds of combat. Jordek's warning rock comes a beat too late as the Gnome too was surprised.

Linar flicks a hand at the orcs* in front of him and Coloured lights Spray forth in a 20' (90°) wedge. He reconsiders his idea to then retreat as it would leave Katten dangerouslly exposed so instead the drow pulls out his longsword and starts to step and sway with the rhythm of the defensive bladesong style**.

Katten was not having a good day, she moves so she can aim at the fumbled Orc, the first arrow missing, getting point blank she aims the second directly at his head. (Crit...)

The injured bugbear ducks behind a column of natural stone and shouts to the others in Orcish, Swarm the archers! Missile fire!. Linar begins pulling at the threads of magic, weaving a shimmering spray of brilliant light that burst out across his attackers. The two orcs before him and a third somewhere behind drop to the hard ground, unconscious. The drow deaws his sword as he begins to sway in the defensive forms of the Bladesong.

Orcs begin flooding towards the archers, and the orcs with bows and crossbows begin to take cover behind various stone features of the cavern. Linar rebuffs the attacks of several of the archers and his new melee foes' spears and polearms like the dance of a whirling entertainer.

Far in the back, Fin hears the sounds of combat and moves closer. The Svirfneiblin presses his back to the living rock and calls upon the power of the Smooth-Hands himself to lend the priest the strength of stone. His wiry muscles fill out and harden as his god answers his dedicated follower's prayer. Nocturno draws his own weapon and hustles forward to stand beside the dark elf, only to be met by his own foes as the Orc leader assaults him. The Fighter-Cleric's superior armor prevents the broadsword from catching flesh, but the uninjured bugbear advances; looming menacingly from the second rank. With expert aim the wicked bladed polearm dips under the High-elf's guard and cuts a neat slice in his side.

Bullock advances as well, squeezing himself awkwardly through the narrow portions of the passage to eventually stand beside Katten where there is more room to properly emply his bow. Missile shots fly from both sides and Katten is caught in the shoulder by an arrow.

Her original target down, the Ranger takes aim at the glaive wielding orc who has replaced the pikeman. Her first shot is thrown off by the rapid movements of the melee, but she anticipates the bedlam and sinks the second arrow fletchings-deep in the orc's chest; dropping it instantly.

Blindly, Jordek follows the wall until he reaches Bullock and speaks a prayer to the Wildwanderer, Blessing himself, Katten and Bullock.

OOC: Is it possible, please, to crop and expand the middle third of the map (so squares just left of Bull to squares just right of the red trangle?
What does red centre mean? Wounded? Or critically so? Or?
And does black dot mean dead?
