Lower Skald: (Delsenora and Esker)

As Del guides them back onto the main road which loops through Lower Skald, all manner of woodworks come into view from: the sawmill, a papermaker, several carpenters and even a bowyer/fletcher. Esker's comments quickly ring true as the latter establishment comes into view.
[Any amount of flight or sheaf arrows, short or long bows can be found here at the phb cost; including composite bows. The vendor speaks elven, but all the transaction really requires is pointing to the object of interest and the exchange of coin. How many arrows does Esker need?]

As Del keeps a 'weather eye' she detects that there does seem to be someone shadowing them, but from a distance. Likely a guild-member just keeping tabs.

Gregor nods in agreement as Ledalar expresses his appreciation for the ale. Quite so. What else have ya to recommend?, he asks casually and then, leaning closer in an obvious attempt to avoid insulting any nearby patrons, he continues quietly. But please nun of that wine. Must be an acquired taste. No offense to ya but I kin hardly swallow it. I'm not even sure it's made from the vine. Where do they make it - a swamp?, he asks with a nervous laugh.

"This is disturbing news, most disturbing, we need to keep her safe, and it appears we have brought this horrible thing on these people." Karl squeezes Elsa's shoulder, "You should share your idea of a trap, and yes, Lady Mira seems settled here. We should stay."

Mira retains her position, listening, her mind pondering everything she has encountered, she remembered once, this old man in the Library of Palathalas, he told her:

History is an aggregate of half-truths, semi-truths, fables, myths, rumours, prejudices, personal narratives, gossip and official prevarications. It is a canvas upon which thousands of artists throughout the ages have splashed their conceptions and interpretations of a day and an era

How much of what she had learned of this place was like that? Music.. the music was the key. It was hidden she suspected in the songs.

Del will let Esker know they are being followed but it is nothing to worry about.

Lower Skald: (Delsenora and Esker)

[Esker mentioned arrows, there is an obvious bowyer/fletcher in this area they passed. We can rp it or handwave it. Any normal type of arrow can be obtained here]

The Old Kartakann Inn: (Gregor, Pyros, Mira)
Pyros suggests they check out the bushes, but the bard doesn't seem to hear him as Mira muses silently to herself.

Gregor continues to speak with the bartender about drinks; sharing his opinion quietly about the Meekulbrau. Ledalar quickly suppresses a half-sneer half-smirk at the comment about a swamp. Berries... they grow on bushes, not vines.. It's a local favorite, some just don't have the palate to enjoy it. Hmm... I do have something else here that might be right for you... The man takes out a corked clay jug with a handle on it and sets it beside Gregor. Don't let this get too much air. It'll ruin the flavor.

The Broken Wheel: (Cross, Iscind, Karl, Elsa)
Elsa nods at Sir Karl's suggestion. And Jerry too. Maybe she has some better idea what exactly is going on here that she hasn't shared...

Esker Manyblades

Esker nods as Del informs him of the tail they have suddenly grown. He turns back to the fletcher's shoppe and purchases a few arrows taking his time looking over the wares. After he pays and they leave, he whispers to Del, "Is this a tail we wish to have follow us? Or should I just cut it off?"

Hello there!, Gregor remarks with a sly grin as he picks up the clay jug and examines it. This is lookin' interesting now. As no mug or glass was provided with the container, Gregor assumes it to be a single beverage or perhaps a shared one as such. Again no offense on the berry wine, he adds as he continues to examine the jug. Guess I should try to develop a taste if it's the local special. Gregor quickly uncorks the container, pulls the vessel to his nose for a quick smell and then follows with enough of a draw to get the full flavor before recapping the drink and setting it on the bar.

"Sorry Pyros, I was lost in thought. Lets go look at these Bushes." She stands, giving a quick glance for Sabrina before she turns to the door, waiting on Gregor to see if he chooses to follow.

Lower Skald: (Delsenora and Esker)
Esker browses the wares and makes his selection. Their shadow, a boy perhaps barely into his teen years, seems content to linger at a respectable distance.

As they continue down the main thoroughfare the tail follows at a casual pace. Del makes her query about returning to the inn.

The Old Kartakann Inn: (Gregor, Pyros, Mira)
The jug before seems to be the kind a barkeep might hold back for special guests to sample from. As no cup is provided and the remark about not letting much air get to it it seems the intent is to take a small pull from the jug itself. Uncorking the vessel, Gregor gives it a tentative sniff. The smell is musky, strong and has the odor of ammonia about it... and perhaps a faint nutty hint. The smell is quite powerful and unpleasant.

Mira and Pyros rise as if to go, calling out to Gregor

Iscind

"A trap might just be the thing with this group the culprit would be in for quite a fight. I'll speak to Esker about it when he returns," Iscind remarks toying with a lock of her hair, like a cat playing with a piece of string.

Gregor whips his head back from the odor and in doing so splashes the full contents of the pot onto the barman (planned move - see initiative roll). Smells like piss - you can keep it, he remarks and tosses the urn onto Ledalar's feet behind the bar. Looks like we're leaving. Have fun cleaning that up moron, Gregor cackles as he exits the inn.

The broken Wheel: (Cross, Iscind, Karl, Elsa)
Should we begin to make some Preparations, then? Elsa inquires. If we stay here again tonight as Sir Karl suggests, then we should be ready... The pretty Halfling cleric muses a bit, At the very least, we need to give the staff some warning. The killer may only be after Jerry, but I wouldn't expect them to have many misgivings about hurting others to get to her if they had to... Elsa says.

Fenrir here could be some kind of lookout. The white-haired elf Cross suggests. Perhaps he could watch above to warn us of strange behavior... He isn't exactly used to people, and I can't see through his eyes or anything, but maybe we can come up with some guidelines for him to watch for in the night? he adds.

The Old Kartakann Inn: (Gregor, Pyros, Mira)
Gregor sniffs the bottle and immediately recognizes the effluvium within. Ledalar laughs loudly, but the rogue is not done expressing his displeasure. He thrusts the bottle towards the bartender but this apparently isn't the first time this particular prank has been played on a patron.

With a practiced aim and a speed much quicker than one might expect from the well-dressed man, Ledalar catches Gregor's wrist in a vise-like grip; preventing any of the liquid from spilling out. Re-corking the bottle, the man wrenches it away from the rogue with his other hand and a wide smirk. Well... if you aren't thirsty, just say so. he chuckles; stashing the bottle back behind the counter. Grinning from ear to ear he speaks with a deathly quiet, Can't you take a joke? Laughing again, louder, the two other dazed patrons in the bar laugh along nervously. The vested man's golden eyes meet Gregor's amber with a wink, though none of the laughter touches them.

As the Bard and the Kender stand near the exit, Ledalar releases his almost inhuman grip on his customer. Bah! I need to take care of some things at the moment anyway. Bar's Closed for an hour! He announces loudly to the room; despite the fact only 5 people are present. He waves the others away as he watches the trio exit. [presuming no other antics ;) ]

[Gregor can tell that Ledalar is quite strong... Likely as strong as any human he has ever met... or better...]
