The Heart of Darkness... [Main Game Thread]

The (Original!) Tomb of Horrors!!!
S1 by the great Gygax 1978. Everything adapted to 2e. This is NOT the Return to ToH written for 2e

Labyrinth of Madness!!! Previously Concluded (by TPK)
S6 by Monte Cook from 1995. Designed for 2e. IMHO this one is the tougher of the two, but not by much.

!) The ring was in a room with 3 chests. All 3 were trapped, and the only prize found was the ring. The ring was destroyed to open the secret door in the chapel
2) the circle/dot is a small flat area on the wall that was indistimguishible from the rest of the wall until Faldair used 'detect magic' and outlined it in chalk

Could he come up with some kind of idea or something he has seen where someone would have used alteration magic in this way before?
Leaning on his engineering and dungeon-ing experience.
Can concentrating on it with detect magic cast reveal anymore? - If yes, Im thinking Van would know that, just not his player.

there are so many types and uses of alteration it would be like trying to guess the denomination of a coin one heard jingling in somebody's pouch.
Faldair's usage of Detect magic has revealed all it can about the spot

I believe I can accomodate you. Faldair offers. Quietly he removes his gauntlets and prays until the tip of his pointer finger begins to glow. Slowly he extends his arm, barely touching the spot he outlined. The glow recedes and there is an audible Click! as of a heavy door unlocking...

====
Faldair casts Dispel Magic on the mysterious spot.
Success! The magic is dispelled!

Lol, Galan actually has it prepared today. Elidyr does also

"Bryce, could you check this area out?" Van will then head back to the pit.

"Good work friend." Galan says to Faladair. "Anyone can tell where this door is moving?"

=============================================
(OOC: I referred to Faladair and I knew I have this one ready but Faladir had 2 dispels so I thought he should use it in case we split again later and both groups need it. Good thing it did something. ;) )

[Ah, my mistake. Galan had it planned all along ;)]

Faldair moves down to the stairs and squints to look into the mist. No, the door down there hasn't changed at all. But the click i heard came from the wall where i dispelled the magic, not from there.

[Sorry, missed that it was bryce you called for]

Bryce wanders over, Hmm... like a door unlocking eh... The roguish Mondoon begins poking, prodding and checking the surface for triggers that might hide a secret door. Another Click can be heard and the section of wall opens to reveal a short hallway that turns right and continues

"Good work guys!" Galan encourages while playing happy tune. "These tunnels might bypass the fog or give us a key to pass it."
