BL3 Ferris - Private Thread for Garbick

Post by Stik »

Clearly, it had been time for a change. The legion wasn’t concerned with quality any longer, and since a big portion of the population of Irongate are dwarves, the legion’s disdain for an entire race was skewed. Ferric mustered out, invested his pay on a forge and tools of his own, and headed out to find work. With things heating up on the border again, it seemed best to hook up with this caravan. The caravan master even allowed him to travel for free, in the safety of the caravan’s shadow, in exchange for repairs as became necessary.

They turned out to be a decent bunch, for humans. The caravan master, his sibling, his child and child’s spouse, a few other workers, all made him welcome. And they didn’t need much in the way of services, either. The big legion veteran is a bit of a wild card – a bit intense, clearly he’s fresh out and has dealt with some unpleasantness. The priestess was a bit loud, but that didn’t bother him much.

This run has been fairly quiet. Until this morning, when the spouse spotted a man on horseback, giving the caravan much too hard a look, and rushed back with the news of bandits. Two hours later, with the village in sight, the “bandits” arrived from the northeast. But they were IV Legion light cavalry and infantry, maybe half a century. Village bells began ringing, villagers began coming out, weapons in hand, even a few real swords and shields. Then it got worse for everyone: local cavalry from the south, and the village and the caravan caught between them.
"No matter where you go, there you are."
