"They might be the Death of us, but at least it would be interesting." Mira giggles, she didn't mention this wasnt what she had in mind but oh well. "We should have stayed together, but at least this way we can cover it faster." Mira keeps her distance somewhat, the crossbow drawn and ready, while watching the wall with interest.

Jerry looks at Merrick, checking he's ready, nods, then follows Mira, sling & stone readied.

Pytor looked at the quickly departing group following the kender and then at Mira's. Muttering under his breath, he curses the decision to divide the group. The gypsy would have preferred to go along with Mira's group. "To watch over his sister", he tells himself. But the group following Pyros seemed ill-suited to face a foe up close if they encountered one. With a wistful glance back to the others, Pytor jogs off after the halflings and their followers. He readies his hammer expecting trouble.

"We do this quickly." She turns, cursing inwardly.

Cross finally catches up with Pyros as he stops along the canyon wall about 20 feet from the massive Ziggurat. The elf casts his spell on the small Kender, and Pyros vanises! Artanis, bow ready, watches the sky warily, glancing back now and again at the skeletons. Elsa stands with her shield hefted and the head of her mace resting on her shoulder. She stares at the tower of dozens of undead with a flat determination, like a laborer about to undertake an arduous task but ready to grind through it with with a will.

None of the skeletons move or respond in any way to the party for now; aside from to turn and face them. The giant raven continues to glare at Mira's group.

[Aside from Pyros? is anyone approaching the Ziggurat? One of the groups can move to rejoin the other if you decide to.]

Pyros gathers up a few clods of hard, dried red clay to toss back to the others if needed. Invisibly the nimble rogue moves forward, closer to the structure. The walls are smooth as if they were sanded down by the wind over hundreds of years. The Ziggurat itself appears to be more of this hard red clay like the rest of the canyon. Taking several minutes the intrepid rogue moves up and down the NorthWest side of the ziggurat, finding nothing but smooth sun-baked walls... certianly that even remotely resembles a door or hidden portal of any kind

[The skeletons are positioned about 1 every 10 feet]

So it's 7 skeletons per side at ground level?
Any on the higher tiers?

"Shall we continue around?"

"Are any of the larger birds following us here friend?"

==========================

Pyros will return to the group and report the lack of entrances found. He will toss a clump in front of them to warn of his approach.

"I'm gonna head closer round the back, unless you all are going a different direction."

In addition to looking for doors, he will also look for tracks of anyone approaching the building, how Artanis was showing him.

"Let's look closer, but perhaps we should stick together this time " Mira responds as the Kender rejoins them,. "I see someone beat me to it " she adds noting his invisible state .

Heading around the structure she walks closer to the base, trying to pick out anything unusual.

Pytor catches up to the one group while they wait for Pyros to investigate. He follows closely behind Elsa, Cross, and Artanis so as not to block their aim, but close enough to step in front if need be.

Jerry's happy for the two groups to join up but just speculates, "Maybe the group that the Big Bird isn't looking at can get away with something the the observed group can't. And..perhaps we should let the invisible Pyros finish his stuff before we go closer. Having to fight nearly 70 skeletons would be too much."

Pyros invisibly rushes around the back to search for tracks or any signs of an entrance, but doesn't find any signs of either.

(as pyros was searching the back, is he going to end up near Mira's group or return to his own?)

[So there are 48 skeletons in total; 24 on the lowest tier, 16 on the next tier, 8 on the taller tier]

"When I last looked before heading after you guys, it appeared the others were beginning to circle around from the other side of the clearing. Perhaps we should continue on around this way until we see a sign of them?" Pytor addresses Elsa, Artanis, and Cross.

Elsa and Adran nod in agreement as Artanis continues to scan the sky. (if Cross is willing, they will follow Pytor's lead, keeping roughly the same 20' distance from the Ziggurat and circling around towards the other group).
