"Oh I doubt the group will sit by and watch you handle it. Myself, I want to try out my new weapon. But maybe we can collaborate."
He will down his drink.
"To the kitchen! Aren't you done your drink yet!?"

If it's here because of you and your friends, then deal with it. He all but growls, But it's causing a lot of problems, so the faster it is found the better. You give me a description and we can cut this thing off before it kills any more. It's almost dark, you'd better hurry.

Gregor downs the rest of his ale and seems only too happy to leave the increasingly agitated barman.

Making his way across the bar Pyros pushes through to the dining area where low lighting is kept by the red glow of candles covered with colored glass. The Kender catches few curious looks as he slips past the tables towards the kitchen. A grand old voice can be heard singing in that musical native language from beyond, muffled as the swinging door closes but resurging full-force as it swings open to allow servers past.

"He will slip into the Kitchen."
Is he able to understand the song?

Either way. He will sing back in Elven. Trying to match the tone/rhythm.
"The old barman has sent me to you to get a handful of lard. Not too soft, but not too hard!"

The Kender listens for a moment, not understanding the words really... maybe something about Beets? Or love... or sorrow... maybe all Three!? Like love for beets and sorrow when missing them or something? [Harmonian language check ;) ] Either way the passion and skill inspire him to want to sing along so he does.

Matching the tone and tempo of the song the Kender enters the Kitchen where a pair of assitants and a serving girl stare at him wide eyed and confused. The chef, a burly man easily over 6ft tall, looks up from where he is currently stuffing some kind of ground meat and herb mixture into hollowed out beets. A grin slants across his face as Pyros appears. Responding in Elven he maintains the musical conversance. Gaston, quickly! Fetch the boy some Lard. Pack it, neatly, in a little Jar. The boy must eat so he can grow, the poor fellow looks half starved! One of the assitants, a tow headed young man who had seemed about to put the intruder out of the kitchen, moves to do so.

The chef holds a cleaver and his apron is covered in crimson streaks and smears presumably from the beets; his hands coated in similar blood-like stains. He turns to one of the dishes about to go out, which appears to be roasted stuffed beets with what smells like a spiced lamb and herb combination inside. Taking a white cloth napkin and one of the smaller beets, old Beeter holds it out for Pyros to take as a sample.

Gaston soon provides the Kender a small glass jelly-jar with a tin lid that is filles with lard.

Language Check: [1d100]=58

In Elven, unless he has picked up "Thank you" in Harmonian.
He will eat it, and try to give a universal acknowledgement of being good.

Then he will be on his way outside. Unless Gregor stops him.

"He seemed a bit more interested once I mentioned the Vampire, even ready to get some folks together to hunt it."

Pyros thinks about the words but they don't mean anything to him really. Probably it was about beets, these people seemed obsessed...

He samples the stuffed beet, cooked to a tender and well-spiced perfection. The earthy root and succulent lamb mingle together fantastically, though leaving a crimson stain around his mouth like a bloodied muzzle. The chef seems pleased that he enjoys it and takes up singing in that musical language once again as Gregor and the Kender depart.

The human rogue shakes his head ruefully. Aye, I imsgine you lit a bit of fire under him. I wonder whst his angle is... where now? Back to the others?

[Yep, tar and lard acquired.]

Pyros takes some random paths away from the inn, the light beginning to fade as night draws ever closer. He recalls hearing in passing there was a blacksmith somewhere on this side of town. After a little while the sound of hammer on steel comes to his ears and he homes in on the location. One of the assistants shows him small swatches of chain mail that display the different makes they offer.

[He could get one of the swatches for about 3sp and some leather cord and assemble it himself, though the leather would probably have to be replaced periodically. Or he can commission one with a short but fine chain the last few inches to where the ammunition is loaded. It would cost 5sp and be ready tomorrow.]

"I'll take this one! Along with some fine chain to attach it all to my Hoopak." He will show them what he means.

Pyros acquires the chain swatch for 3sp and some short and thin but strong chain to use to attach it to his hoopak for 1 additional silver.
