Bastian glances at his coin and mutters to himself, "I rather wish we had more torches..."

Bastian cautiously edges around the bodies, staying as close to the cave wall as he can. While he's never had issues with death, he's always been uneasy around mangled corpses.

"Then we rush the exit. It's a short distance and we should have enough momentum to topple them should they rise." Bastian pockets his flask and makes ready to run.

"You'll get no argument from me!" Bastian exclaims as he reaches with one hand for his bottle of grain alcohol. "Here, this will help quite a bit!"

Saul looks at Dale and asks, "Shall I go or you?" gesturing toward the doorway.

Saul hobbles to the end of the bridge, nearest the chest, adding his weight to the balance. "Tis a good thing there are no archers about! They'd have easy shots at us as we puzzle out how to open the far door, let along GET to it!"

Bastian stands to the side and cups his hands together, focusing the light upon the twitching corpse. "I like not, the looks of this..."

Withdrawing the weapon, Bastian shrugs. "My initial guess was that it is a portal, but I figured I should check and make sure it's not corrosive, or worse, alive."

Saul returns to the chamber that housed the weighted chest and begins to slowly drag it to the bridge. He grunts with the effort, more as a means of expressing his consternation at having to do it by himself.
