Ranger Variant: Elven Forester
Born and raised in the forest Elven Foresters use their skills to protect their communities and the elven homelands. Trained from early childhood to move unseen and unheard through the forest, hunting and tracking game and foes, and wilderness survival elven foresters spend several human lifetimes learning their craft. Elven foresters often know more about their forest homes than anyone other than druids. Elven foresters can be found among wild elves, wood elves, high elves, and even among the dark elven followers of Eilistraee.
Adventures: Elven foresters become adventurers for the same reasons as any other elves.
Alignment: All Elven Foresters must be of either good or neutral alignment.
Religion: Elven foresters must choose either a member of the Seldarine or Eilistraee as their patron deity. Non-elven deities aren’t as concerned about the welfare of the elven people while the evil drow powers have no interest in woodlands or defending goodly elves.
Background: Elven foresters learn their trade from their tribal or community elders.
Races: Only elves or half-elves raised by elves can become elven foresters.
Classes: Elven foresters get along with rangers, druids, and clerics. They tend to view rogues with suspicion due to their talent for sneak attacks and lack of combat training. Due to the length of training needed to become an Elven Forester those who wish to become elven foresters must do so at 1st level. Even after gaining enough experience to advance in level they are limited to either the cleric, druid, or sorcerer classes for multi-class options.
Abilities: Dexterity is vital to elven foresters because many of their skills are based upon it. Strength and Wisdom are also important for combat and spell casting, elven foresters have the same requirements as rangers for the casting of divine spells.
